Delegates at the 14th ATCM and the 17th TC
This year, Botswana is hosting its 26th BAGASOO extraordinary plenary session in Gaborone from 10-11 November 2016.
The Plenary Session will be preceded by back-to-back statutory meetings: the 14th Air Transport Committee meeting on 7-8 November and the 17th Technical Committee meeting on 9 November 2016.  
The one-week long meetings will be attended by approximately 120 delegates, from African Civil Aviation Authorities and Experts from the 54 member States of BAGASOO, Partner Organisations (ICAO, IATA, ACI, Airbus), Regional Economic Commissions (RECs) of the African Union and other African Aviation association/bodies (BAGASOO, EGNOS Africa JPO).
A hundred and twenty-six (126) participants from the following 31 States and Organisations attended the opening:
Botswana, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Cote D’Ivoire, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinee, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The meetings discussed among others, issues pertaining to the improvement of key industry values such as Good governance and best practices, Transparency and accountability, Professionalism and Integrity, and a safe and just culture across the African aviation landscape.
The agenda will vary depending on the particular meeting, and will cover topics such as Aviation safety and security, air transport, environment, legal and Africa-wide aviation policies.
